Simandou Mine Haul Road Engineering Design

Project Description

The Simandou mine development project is an iron ore exploration and mining project located in the Republic of Guinea. The Mining Project’s mineralised deposits are located approximately 550 kilometres east-southeast of Conakry, Guinea’s capital, in Simandou mountain range. Rio Tinto and it’s local partner (Simfer) are focussed on developing a new open cast iron ore with planned to production of 50 to 60 million tonnes per annum (“Mtpa”) with the development of the northern Ouéléba deposit.

The Works for WSP as consultant entails the Detail Bulk Earthworks Engineering Design for the proposed Simandou Ouéléba iron ore mine in Guinea and encompasses bulk earthworks, roads, drainage infrastructure, structures, concept study for the upgrade of the existing Beyla airport and early works constructions roads and laydown areas.
